East Palo Alto Police Det. Rod Tuason apparently posted the remarks on his Facebook page in response to a friend’s status update, which suggested that gun advocates who carry unloaded weapons openly — which is legal in California — should do so in places like “Oakland, Richmond and East Palo Alto” and not just in “hoity toity” cities.
“Haha we had one guy last week try to do it!” Tuason replied. “He got proned out [laid face-down on the ground] and reminded where he was at and that turds will jack him for his gun in a heartbeat!”
Several comments later, the detective suggested shooting the gun rights advocates, some of whom have carried firearms openly in recent weeks in California’s Bay Area, particularly at Starbucks locations.
“Sounds like you had someone practicing their 2nd amendment rights last night!” Tuason wrote. “Should’ve pulled the AR out and prone them all out! And if one of them makes a furtive movement … 2 weeks off!!!” — referring to the modified duty, commonly known as desk duty, that typically follows any instance in which an officer is investigated for firing his weapon…..
Man. I am SO glad in EVERY way that we moved out of that state. I really feel like it’s almost a different country.

So, If someone tells a JOKE about seeing a cop executing a prone suspect in cold blood, and a taxpayer deciding “Hey, I don’t want to pay for two weeks of vacation”! so the Taxpayer shoots the bad cop, it is protected speech under the 1st Amendment right?
More like it would fall under making “terrorist” threats against a law officer, followed by a dynamic entry and a tasing for “resisting”, if your lucky. A single shot because an officer “thought” your TV remote was a gun if your not so lucky.
All cops loose when they allow other officers to get away with stupidity like this. While they can proclaim it is protected speech, It is not intelligent speech.

There are cops . . . and then there are douchebags with badges.
These morons fit into the latter category methinks. Perhaps they could find a rewarding career holding up targets at the range where the REAL cops practice. Just a suggestion.

You know I’m not one of those people that thinks the police are all evil and out to get you, though I can’t honestly say for sure “most cops are good”, that’s what worries me.
Obviously it’s going to depend where you are. I’ve met some officers who are very helpful and friendly and genuinely don’t like to arrest people that don’t need to be arrested, and some who are dicks and go through taser cartridges like a stoner goes through cheetos.
80% of cops (outside of California) are good.
10% are hard asses.
10% are fucking evil and will plant drugs on you and beat you.

It may be protected Free Speech, but lets be honest, When I was in the Military and if I had made Comments like this, i would be Court Marshaled for advocating violence against someone I disagree with.
What the Cop says on his own time about his personal opinions is his business, but he openly commented as a representative of his Department, thus it could be taken that his views are the Norm for his Department and that is the policy of his department.
I used to hate the fuckin pigs. Now I “just feel better when they’re not around.” I hate the pricks who make it nessissary to have them in the first place.
