Upon Governor Beverly Perdue’s declaration of a State Of Emergency on September 1, 2010 Dove Hunters, Concealed Carry Handgun Licensees, Target Shooters and all other gunowners cannot possess, transport or use firearms off their personal property as per N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-288.7
New Orleans did the same thing during Hurricane Katrina (and local and federal goons went door to door STEALING guns from honest citizens in the time when they needed self-defense the MOST!
I’m glad that in my state, there is a law prohibiting this sort of nonsense!

Just got back to Vienna after nine days in Italy.
In Rome, I saw a guard shack manned by some kind of police. The door was open. Hanging from the door? A submachine gun, probably a Beretta. I’m more familiar with H & K, so no positive ID. Sorry.
Every Italian cop of any kind I saw, who packed a pistol, was packing a Beretta. They are the oldest firearms manufacturer still in business, after more than 500 years.
Also, it must be said that the Italian cops (and anyone else wearing a uniform) are absolutely the most stylish motherfuckers anywhere. I am not a uniform freak or a fan of “authority” but I give the Italians credit for being cool and looking cool while doing their natural-born thing.
Oh. One more thing: Fuck North Carolina.
Ironic, eh? In Europe the masses are not allowed to pack heat. Yet police and airport security are always packing. Only authority. That’s what some want to see here. I say fuck that.
Fuck NC, indeed.
Though I live in a fairly rural area of it…and I don’t care what you’ve heard but this little “State of emergency” has NOT halted dove season, not in the slightest.
I have been known to say some nasty things about “Sport shooters” and hunters who love flashing their state issued licenses around and don’t support gun rights and self defense for all, and I’ll stand by it…I mean look at what they’ve done to things in europe. But 80% of the hunters I have grown up around here are reliable good-ole boys who won’t let anything stand in the way of their hunting and means of self-defense.
